I've heard before that the world becomes quiet after it snows. At first, I thought it was a kind of synesthesia because the earth is covered with snow and the evenly distributed snowflakes in the sky are like mist, making white and gray the background of the entire field of vision, while other colors are like decorations on a canvas.
But later, when I arrived at the playground, I realized that even though I could hear everyone's noise, even the people around me seemed to be speaking from a farther place. It was as if my ears were blocked, and the world had lost its background noise.
E said it's because the gaps in the snow can cancel out echoes, just like the walls of a theater.
Hmm, that makes sense.
